PASSPORT SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Renewal of expired passports
  • Replacement of lost, stolen or damaged passports
  • First time applications for passports
  • Change of personal data such as addition of married name for married women, legal name change, correction of error(s)

FIRST TIME APPLICATIONS:  ADULTS

  • Original Birth Certificate or Certificate of Citizenship or Adoption Register;
  • Married women must submit a marriage certificate or divorce judgement if the application is being made in their married name; Photographic ID such as the passport from country of citizenship, driver’s licence, Identification indicating permanent residency, Jamaican electoral ID and other identification subject to the approval of the Consular Officer.

FIRST TIME APPLICATIONS:  MINORS

  • Original Birth Certificate or Certificate of Citizenship or Adoption Register;
  • Parents ID such as passport, drivers licence, national voters ID;
  • Legal Guardians are required to submit a court order along with their ID or a notarised letter of consent from the parent(s) and their ID.
  • All applicants must apply in person either at the Embassy or through the nearest Jamaican Consulate  (Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo).

RENEWAL:  ADULTS
  • Original passport (current or expired);
  • Original Birth Certificate or Certificate of  Jamaican Citizenship or Jamaican Adoption Register;
  • Two colour passport size photographs, one of which should be certified;
  • A Deed Poll registered at the Supreme Court in Brazil (or relevant authority) or Registrar General’s Department in Jamaica or other relevant authority in the country of residence, must be submitted where there has been a change of name;
  • Married women must submit a marriage certificate with the application if they are using the married name. Women who are divorced and who wish to use their married name should submit their divorce judgement. All persons who have been married (including divorced & widowed) are still required to complete Section B of the passport application form.

RENEWAL:  MINORS

  • Original passport (current or expired);
  • Original Birth Certificate or Certificate of Jamaican Citizenship or Adoption Register;
  • Two colour passport size photographs; one of which should be certified;
  • Parent(s) identification (passport, driver’s licence or other state issued ID);
  • Legal Guardians are required to submit a court order along with their ID or a notarised letter of consent from the parent(s) and their ID.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE (when required)
Children three years and under are exempt.

All first time applicants must appear in person to submit their applications.


PROCESSING TIME

The time frame for the processing of all passport applications is four to six weeks from the date of approval of the application.

Minors:  Renewal or first time -- US$110.00
Minors:  Replacement  -- US$160.00
